or you're just like me, doing it not because i want to but because i have to.
don't get me wrong, it's not the company i'm talking about here. because i know i'm lucky to be working in one of the best companies in my country. it's just that i'm tired of going to work every single day, doing the same things over and over. waiting for 630pm to finally call it a day and go home.
if i'll be given the chance, i'd rather have my own business and be my own boss. have control over my work life and time. but right now, money is a big factor and i'm pretty sure that my business can't provide me yet all that i need.
is it just me? or are there anyone else here who don't love a day job anymore? please speak up and share your views...

I don't like my day job that's why I quit. Like your I would rather put up my own business too. That way I could be with my family anytime I want.

I really like my job. But the hours are not very human friendly. I work a rotating shift schedule of 12 hour shifts for 4 days, then 4 days off then work 4 nights and then 4 days off and repeat. It doesn't matter if it is a holiday or not. The switching back and forth is killer, but the pay is very, very good. At the same time though, I am always looking for opportunities that I could take advantage of to someday free me of this work schedule.

Like you, I'm also tired already of my day job. I'm also lucky to belong to one of best company in our country - i have a good paying job, the working hours are less compared to other companies (we only work for 37.5 hours in a week), i love my boss and my collegue, opportunity to travel abroad, etc. It's just the routinary thing that's boring me. I have been in this company for 6 years now and I just find my work very routinary.
But of course I still can't afford to quit. My husband and I already set up a small business plus I still have another business that I share with my brother but I still can't quit my day job. For one, the earnings that we get from our business is still not enough to support our basic needs (and our little wants) and second i'm not the risk taking type of person. I want the security that my day job gives. Atleast, I'm sure that whatever happens, even if the economy is not good, I would still receive my full pay check.

Since I'm doing a job that I have dreamt of since childhood and I'm doing it parttime...yes, I love my day job. I'm a doctor, (an ophthalmologist) and there's really a different sort of satisfaction from that job. It helps that I'm only in the clinic for a few hours a day and it's near my home. So I'm not really away from my son that much.

Yes, I'm like you, my job is very boring and so I have to go to work every "bloody" morning....
I totally agree with what you say, I'd like starting my own business and be my own boss, but I live in Italy, and this is very difficult to do, in my country life is very expensive and I have a little son to grow up.
As my work is boring I have some hobbies.

i feel exactly like you, i don't hate the company but i just want to have control of my time, so i'm thinking, planning, desiring of a home based business or some sort of. unfortuantely i just can't quit, first because i have doen it last year and ended up having an increase and new mobile phone..I don't think I can give some just reason to my boss to quit this current job of mine. But still, I have high hopes that one day, i'll be my own boss..right now just have to be like "mirandas assistant".yeah.. i am very much like that..from the movie the devil wears prada..lol

I do have a full time job which I love and hate according to the time or the year. My job tends to be stressful at times and I really would feel like quitting and going home. On the other hand, there are days when i feel at peace having the job I have. So its a love-hate raltionship for me!
