Have you played this game without CHEATS?

i havent used cheats for playing compaign, the reason being simple, the compaign are made in such a way that you will be able to clear it with a little bit of efforts... so a particular starategy is enuff to enjoy it... I have used cheats just to get fun out of the game, i like the fast paced and resource free environment for me... ;)

i played it a couple times and had no problem at all to become big and win without any money cheats or whatso'ever. It's actually a bit boring after a while and there isn't much depth to it. I rather prefer games with more things going on under the surface. But in civilization you almost never come to any surprise. The computer players play very predictable, so it's more fun to play with real players.

You need to stage a revolution and change your government at certain points in the game because buildings are pricey with one type of goverment while units are pricey with another. Also, you need to check the terrain where you build your cities. Make sure there are shields, food and gold within the vicinity. I successfully complete every game except on the more advanced settings where I just get crushed by the enemies. There is so much to a game of civilization and when you know your way around it, it's a very addictive game.

I always play without cheats. It makes the game more fun. Currently, I am trying to takeover the entire territory through influence. It is getting tough because countries keep loading up its cities to prevent the "influence takeover." I might have to launch a massive airstrike on these cities before launching my full scale ground assault!
