I have always had an interest in doing all kinds of rugs. I've made crocheted, woven, hooked and toothbrush rugs.
It seems not too many have heard about the toothbrush rugs, so I found a couple of sites available for information.
When I heard about them, I was lucky enough to find a tutorial tape on e-Bay and found it quite helpful in getting started.
The two sites I found are: www.auntphillys.com and www.hgtv.com (Carol Duvall Show - Episode CDS-950)
I'm also including a picture taken from the Carol Duvall site.
You can buy the tool to make these, but I cut the brush end off a toothbrush and sharpened it somewhat, but it also needs to be smooth so it doesn't catch on the fabric strips. The hole in the end of the toothbrush is the 'eye' to put the fabric through, like a needle eye.

I've never heard of a toothbrush rug. How did you come across this? I love doing crafts and am always interested to hear about anything new, let me know how they're made and how it turns out for you if you do go ahead and make one of these.
