keep trying

I have been writing for many years. I have one finished novel and another that I'm working on right now. This year I decided to quit procrastinating and throw myself wholeheartedly into my goals. I decided to try and become a freelance writer in order to earn some money and force myself to write every day. I hope to make some good contacts with other writers and people in the publishing world. I try and work on my novel every day but sometimes life gets in the way. I also need to find an agent but first I must finish my novel! I've found that writing down each and every goal with individual timelines for each has been helpful to me on many different levels. My written goals keep me focused and the timelines give me a real short term goal to shoot for instead of floundering around day to day. It's a flexible piece of work though. For example, if I'm ill or have things to do with my family I can readjust my personal deadlines. I try to keep close to the original unless I find it was too unrealistic. I would love to hear from anyone who is facing or who has dealt with these issues. Have you reached your goals or are you still working towards them? If you have reached your goals has it made you happier and have you created new ones?

I wish you good luck and every success with your goal. You must have a lot of determination and talent to have finished a novel and be working on another. I have seen other posts on this forum from other writers, you might find some if you do a search of mylot. I think trying to write each day is key and hving goals to achieve is what gives our life purpose.
