The words you have sworn to others might come back to you?

Our tongue is so powerful that sometimes when we swear things to other people, it may come true in due time. My mom always tells me this. She reminds us once in a while to be careful on the things we say against other people because it might come true. And the worse scenario would be, it might come back to you too. Do you believe on that? Do you really think when you swear words it might come back to you?
I'm just wondering because the only person I've sworn so much was my ex. Because of my anger and hatred when he left me and exchanged me from someone else, I began to swear to him that he will never be happy with that girl and he will really not be at peace no matter what. It happened, yes! Because there were many instances before that he always comes back to me, asking for another chance again, telling me he is not happy and all those stuff. But now I have already forgiven him and moved on with my life.
Currently, I already have a new boyfriend whom I could really say he's far better than my ex. And now, I remember what my mom once told me. So, i need your opinion everyone. Do you think what i have sworn to my boyfriend before will really come back to me soon?

I think it depends if you really meant it. Cursing someone's downfall would probably come back in due time. As my dad says "Todo se Paga"(Everything is paid) it just means that justice will arrive in time. But I also think, that since you forgiven him and moved on that nice action will be repayed as well.

Yeah, hopefully. It is just now that I've realized that no matter how mad I was at him, I shouldn't have done that because I know cursing does not do anything good at all. BUt somehow, I have learned to forgive him with all my heart too. SO I hope I won't be experiencing being cursed by somebody. Thanks for responding :)
