Years ago someone pointed me to the FlyLady website (flylady.net). I never got around to starting because I am the queen of procrastination. (If I wasn't, I probably wouldn't need FlyLady, now would I?) I was just thinking about it again this afternoon, so I went to see if the site is still around, and it is indeed still going strong. So I'm just wondering, has anyone else here ever done the FlyLady thing? I'm thinking about starting, but I just want to know if it really works for real folks...

Well, the easiest way to explain would be to tell you to go take a peek at the site, but there's a ton of info there and it can be a little intimidating if you don't know what you're looking at. Basically it's an organization/housekeeping regimen. I haven't started it yet, so I couldn't tell you for sure how it works, but I have heard from folks who swear by it, so I imagine there must be something there!

Interesting and funny site. Thanks to show us the link. I didn't do the FlyLady things so I cannot help you about that but I am sure you can find someone that can, MyLot is a so big community!

It has really worked for me on a lot of levels. A friend got me started about a year ago and people have commented on how much my house has changed since then. And each time I take it up a notch they comment again. The two keys to it are making routines and decluttering. Decluttering is getting rid of anything that you don't use or love in your house, which makes room for you to organize everything you keep and love. Also she emphasizes not beating yourself up over the money you spent on the stuff you are getting rid of {"You can not organize clutter"} or for falling behind. "You are not behind. Jump in where you are." is her motto.

Yes, I've known about that site for quite awhile.
I tried to do everything it says, but I only did some.
Some is better than none!
I will go back now that you mentioned it and see if I can try to add some more to my life.

That really is the basis of the FLyLady system, teaching you how to build routines from the bottom up and manage your time better. It really is interesting to see how little time most things around the house take once to get the routines down, stop procrastinating or just do them regularly.
She doesn't just toss you into the deep end either. You get one small thing down into a habit and then you add the next thing. You can go at your own pace and she stresses jumping in where you are instead of trying to make up everything you think you missed and not beating yourself up for falling behind or falling off the wagon. Just pick up and start over. It really is a very positive enviorment.
