Uploading websites to sub domain?

I was just wondering as I am planning on uploading several sites to one domain using sub domains. I guess I just have to use f.ex smartFTP and upload to www.mydomain/golf f.ex.... if I want a subdomain site about golf. If anyone is familiar with this procedure, please tell me. I wish to buy a domain of 5GB, and to upload as many sites I can, hundreds maybe. I will do this to make money on adsense. I have a plan, you know. I am also wondering if anyone knows the approximate size of a 20 page website? with articles and some pictures.
