Which do you prefer Butter or Margarin?

My mum used always buy margarine as it was much cheaper than butter. I hated the taste of it and I would always use lots of jam to try to kell the taste. Now, I would never buy margarine, not even for cooking. I love butter on everything especially mashed patatoes. They never tasted as good with margarine.

I've never really been able to tell the difference. My mom was always putting me on diets and such, so when I did get margarine it was a treat. I never even really knew there was such a thing as butter until I was about 12, when I spent the night at a friends house and that's all they had.

Some years ago I heard of a long time test with 50 thousand doctors and 90 thousand nurses. They asked them to write down their eating habits.
In the long run it was shown, that those
who ate butter had stayed healthier than those who ate margarine.
Nowadays it has become more clear why. Margarine can have transfats, that are very harmful for your health.

In year 2003, two guys got the Nobel prize for explaining how the fats act in our cells.
A Mexican doctor has explained how important it is to keep the right balance between fats to avoid depression, ADHD, dementia and alzheimer.

well i prewfer butter. it is more natural than margarin and its tastes awesome....

i always useoil! Oil is better, it is fat the same but fats come form vegetables and are very useful for body, animal fats instead can be dangerous.
anyway i use little butter too, but never margarine

They are different, although they both have the same carolies. :)
Butter is slightly higher in saturated fats than that of margarin.
According to a study,eating margarin can increase heart disease in women by 53% over eating the same amount of butter.
Eating margarin increases the absorption of many other nutrients in other foods.
Butter has many nutritional benefits where margarin only has a few because they are added.
And after all, butter tastes much better than margarin and it can enhance the flavors of other foods.
Butter has been around for centuries while margarin has been only about one hundred years.
It's not anti-scientism, but natural is better especailly for food, I believe.
