Freedom of speech is one our most precious freedoms, but it also comes with a level of responsibility. We are very fortunate to be free to say whatever we want without fear of prosecution from our government.
Our freedom of speech, however, has consequences. We are free to make comments, statements, and accusations about individuals or groups of Americans, but we have to except the responsibility of those comments, statements, and accusations.
No individual or group has all the answers, nor are there any groups of Americans who are exempt from disagreement or criticism.
We must embrace and cherish our freedoms and not allow ANYONE to take away our freedom of speech or any of our other freedoms. How do you see it?

I do believe in the freedom of speech as one of our most beloved rights. But what some people don't understand, just as they have the right to say what they want others have the right to 'retaliate' and say what they want. It sometimes just seems that some groups are so narrow minded that they only want to hear their words and not others.
Freedom of speech is ok as long as it's my speech....
Not that I feel that way, just others.

yes good discussion ironwood. freedom of speech like any other freedom is not absolute. it must be exercised within the limits provided by law. any right when exercised accordingly is protected by law, but a right that transgresses or steps into another right of another person is not sanctioned by law. we must exercise our rights without injuring other people's rights.
rights as well, have corresponding duties and responsibilities. in the exercise of your right such as the freedom of speech, you are always accountable for that.
