We have kept epsom salt in our bathroom cabinet, kitchen cabinet and in the garden shed. Epsom salt is good for many things.
I use it to put around my Rhododenron Bushes. It adds a key ingredient for their growth. I find that when the leaves start to turn yellow, epsom salt will perk them up overnight.
Bath Stuff - Easy Epsom Salts Bath to Soak Aching MusclesEpsom Salt Bath
Did you know that you can relax tired muscles and joints with an epsom salt soak? All you need to do is dissolve 1 cup Epsom salts in a tub of warm water. This is such a wonderful relaxing bath. It works great for soothing tired, aching joints and muscles. Anyone with Arthritis could also benefit from a soak in this warm bath.
We purchase epsom salt at dollar general stores or walmart. Garden center sometimes have it also. It is very in expensive.

There is nothing like a soothing bath. What agreat mix of recipes to add to my usual epsom salt routine. I think it is the magnesium that is supposed to relax muscles. Does anyone know if that is true?

My grandma had really bad diabetes and had bad legs because of it.
her legs once became so infected that we feared that she would loose them.
But she faithfully soaked her legs in warm Epsom salt water 3 times a day for a few months. And sure enough, they got better! Of course, it didn't help with the sacrs...but it did save her legs!
Because of that, I keep Epsom salt and soak in it when needed.
My daughter once got an infection on the bottom of her foot...soaked it for a couple weeks and the foot was like new!
My other daughter had gotten a planter wart on the bottom of her foot and the medication was not helping it. Started soaking her foot in Epsom salt water and scrubbed her feet before medication was applied...it was cured much faster! :)
Epsom salt is a wonderful thing! :)

When you put tomato plants out, you are supposed to put some epsom salts in the hole that you dig, water thorougly of course. You can also top dress with it. I do not know if it is good for anything else, but it does make for healthier tomatoes, with dark green thick leaves. It is the magnesium in it.

I love to soak cuts and abrasions in epsom salts. I do that and then apply an antibiotic ointment. I have seldom gotten any infections! I sure didn't know about its use in gardens though. I have made a note!

When magnesium sulfate is absorbed through the skin, such as in a bath, it draws toxins from the body, sedates the nervous system, reduces swelling, relaxes muscles, is a natural emollient, exfoliator, and much more.

I also use epsom salts in the bath. I have 2 herniated disks and 2 that are compressed in my back. It actually also helps the pain and discomfort with them when my back starts to act up. They are also useful for soaking cuts or injuries on horses legs and feet. According to my horse shoer they also help to toughen up the horses feet so that you don't have to keep shoes on them. I had heard that you could use them for fertilizer for plants, but had not tried this. Would it also work to fertilize vegetable gardens, too?

No, do not use it in your garden. It has what azelias and Rhodedenron, evergreens need but not for all veggies. I forget right now what it has in it.

If I have a pretty good hard workout, I will use Epsom salt. My great and grandparents told me about this a long time ago. Til this day, I still use it. and if my son is sore from playing basketball, I will put some in his bath too...I love it...

I have really enjoyed reading your posts on Epson Salts,Do you think it would be good for fruit trees.I have a number of fruit trees in my yard,I also have a lot of pine trees and that has slowed my fruit trees down from producing fruit.I'm hoping to add some hardy Cherry trees this spring.

I soak myself in salt baths to cleanse the negative energies around my body, that affects the body's electromagnetic field and aura. Salt is known to slough off negative energies. After taking the salt bath, I notice a big difference. I usually feel a decrease in depression, I feel lighter, calmer, more positive, relaxed and have the ability to handle stress more. If I just take a normal warm bath with no salt in it, I don't notice any difference than if I take a salt bath.
