The Rosary is not quite just repeating prayers. Infact, it does not at all seem like repetitive praying to me. I know that probably is a bit of a surprise, but, with the Rosary one meditates on the mysteries, so each section of beads (a decade) has a different mystery attached (there are 15 mysteries to a complete rosary) and we meditate on that mystery as we pray the prayers.
God does like perseverance too :) If your housemate is annoyed, maybe you can pray in private? it would be a distraction to your prayers, I think, to have a fuming housemate in the background.

What about Matthew 6:7? It says to not pray with many words, like the rosary does. And did you know that the rosary actually is not purely catholic? It actually originated in Hinduism, to help count the names of the gods/goddesses of that religion. Then it traveled through the hands of the Muslims when they were doing their conquesting in the 6th century A.D., where the Eastern Orthodox Christians picked it up during the Muslim occupation of Istanbul (then Constantinople). During the Crusades, the Catholic soldiers picked it up from their Orthodox cousins, and that's where the rosary actually came from. Just thought I'd let you know...

It sounds like you may have developed obsessive compulsive disorder.
Most people would not repeat the same discussions with their friends over and over, nor should you repeat the exact same thing over and over to Him who should be your best friend. Prayer is nothing more than talking to God. Be spontaneous, retrain your mind, and allow God to intervene to help you out.
