When my grandson started school in the 3rd grade one ot the worst supplies i saw was he needed a calculator. Waht happen to the good old day where you had to do math in you brain? I went to a store and the cash register wasnt working. The teenage working it had to get help to figure how how much change to give me. my bill was $10.25 I have her $20.25 simple math you would think. I couldnrt believe she needed help to figure out the change. Do you think that teaching a young child is slacking off? WOULD LIKE YOUR INPUT ABOPUT THE SCHOOL SYSTEM.

It is the same all over the world. I couldn't believe it when I heard that calculators are allowed to be used at exams. If I go into a shop and the cash register is not working, I usually leave and go elsewhere, as I wouldn't have the patience to wait while the shop assistant tots up the total and then has to have it checked. Personally I love maths and I have no time for calculators.

When you have teachers who can't do basic math what do you think we are going to turn out....Some of the teacher who give test should be taking them cause they don't seem to be teaching our grandkids anything now a days....They are more worried about the next party they are going to go to not what they are teaching kids.... If one of them had to take an IQ test they would come out missing of few point above a moran......There are some good teachers out there but they are few and far between....That's why so many are taking their children out of public schools and teaching them at home so they will be able to learn in a better envirment than in a public school...
