MS Visual Basic .Net versus JAVA

It depends on the programmer. If from the very start of his/her programming career he/she handles microsoft platform and programming vb,asp, and .net etc... he will prefer Miscrosoft products instead of JAVA. But if you will consider licenses most of the company used JAVA because it is free. Try searching jobs thru jobstreer and you will see that java is popular that vb.net there are more openings in JAVA than VB.NET. Currentyly I'm planning to study JAVA because I'm programming on a microsoft platform based and I would like to learn JAVA to be a flexible programmer. Good Luck!
