When you buy a gift that requires batteries do you also buy the batteries for it? This is probably a really dumb question. But I really want to know how many people do and how many dont buy batteries. I just recently bought a gift for a 7 year old b-day and I felt guilty giving that gift without the batteries.

I would say yes to this. Unless I honestly didn't know it needed batteries and it was a mistake. I'd hope for batteries too if I got something that needed them.

I do. Kids always want to play with some thing RIGHT AWAY, so its great ot have batteries, PLUS is really thoughtful of the parents to toss in the nessisary batteries.
My friend that lives 8000 miles away recently sent me some baby things for my upcoming child, she also sent me some walky talkys for my 3 year old to play with, she sent the batteries along with it, which is great because i dont keep 9volts on hand, just double and triple As, so i was really happy that she thought to toss in the batteries for the toy.
My son got to play with his "talky walkys" right away and we were all happy.

I include the batteries. Kids are so excited when they open a toy, and so disappointed when they can't play with it because there aren't any batteries.
A really good gift to give the parent is a charger and some rechargeable batteries.

Yes of course buy the batteries, its not fair to make a child wait to play with a new toy. I have been know to over look the fact that the toy required batteries, but alas I have done this to my own children at Christmas too, Shameful I know!
