I had got an email from admin@mail.yahoo.com with a notification that I have won $500. When I clicked on the link provided, it told me that " YOU are not a premium member. If you want to get a prize,Please get registered". So I got myself registered with Yahoo Games by paying $8. But till date I have neither received any single Cent noe any communication from Yahoo. I am completly cheated by reputed site like Yahoo.com

That email is not really from yahoo. It is a yahoo scam mail. You can totally tell that because it says adim@mail.yahoo.com It's only @ yahoo, it's never mail. yahoo. Sorry mate but you have been scammed. You just gave away your $8 to some kind of scammer. Don't worry though, we all learn from our mistakes. Lucky is was only $8. It could have been worser like $50.

That probably wasn't Yahoo. If someone emails you saying you won money, but have to pay them money, its almost certainly a scam. Does that make sense man? Why would someone give you $500 for no reason, but only if you give them $8?

I'll bet that orignal email wasn't really from yahoo. This sort of thing happens all the time. People will be told they've won some sort of prize as a means of getting information from them or getting them to buy something. I;m really sorry that you had to find out the hard way, and I hope $8.00 was all you lost. I hope you didn't give credit card info or anything like that to someone who will misuse it. To protect yourself, you shouldn't assume that emails are from who they say they are. It's really easy to fake email addresses, websites, etc. Also, it's not legal for someone to say that you have won something but then you have to buy something to get it.
