Hi! At one point in my life I was the poor person and was living in a shelter with my two babes. Even before I fell on hard times, I had always given what i could. I think I have actually been scamed before, but I don't let it bother me too much because my intentions are good.
I was lucky enough to have wonderful caring people help me when i had nothing and it still brings me to tears sometimes to know that I am not alone and there are (even though we only usually hear about the bad) still very kindhearted people out there.
I do beleive that you should help your fellow man finacially or emotionally, but remember they also need to learn to help themselves as well. oh, just for the record, I did have a full time job when i ended up in a shelter and did not rely on welfare.
Have an AWESOME ONE!

All the time, and not only to those less fortunate than I am. Charity/good deeds/ kindness happens every day in our lives, even on minor/subtle levels. A simple THANK YOU is a charitable, caring act.
Charity also should never be strictly "measured" I could do as much of a service for someone in buying them a coffee, as I could in donating a car to a church raffle.
It is, but shouldn't strictly be something we track for the purpose of using charity on 4/15 every year.

Once I became one of those people, I have tried to give back in the best way that I can. Have rung bells for the Salvation Army at Christmas and when we are back on our feet I will be growing a row or two of vegetables for 2nd Harvest food banks etc. Also wish to help others to not go through what I have ever again.

Yes I do. I constantly feel that I have been blessed to live a comfortable life so it is only right that I give back something in return.I sponsor a child with World Vision Development Foundation. Through the sponsor's donations, the foundation is able to send the child to school, provide for their family's needs and have livelihood programs so they would no longer need to depend on donations eventually.
