The funniest thing happened tonight. I just had to tell my son, and we both laughed about it.
I have four cats. The last one is a stray that came into the house while I was putting out the garbage and decided she just wasn't leaving.
Zarra, as we called her was shocked to find three other cats who didn't like her. Zarra is still a kitten and wants to make friends.
Well 4 months later, Zarra and Sheeba play together, pearl will just hiss at her and Junior is a major pain in the butt.
He goes after her any chance he can get and when he does, he gets punished. He is sent to another part of the house on a time out. Well we have been doing that now for four months.
Today, he went after her and before I had a chance to yell at him, he did the funniest thing. He ran out the room and put himself on time out for about an hour. I never saw anything like it. It was so funny.

Lol, cats are the funniest creatures sometimes.
He obviously knew what was coming and decided to do it himself before you had a chance to punish him.
He probably figured he'd save you the bother. And besides, he obviously enjoys going at the other cat lol.

animals can do crazy stuff like that. Its the same with my dogs one in particular. She knows she's not allowed to sleep on my bed, but whenever I close her with some of the other dogs in there, she's the only one who jumps on the bed. However whenever I come back into the room, she jumps down and at once sits and offers me her paw. So she knows she's done something wrong but wont stop doing it bt will apologise as soon as we come in :D

Wow, reminded me of my dog blackie. we had taught him to stand on his hind legs against a wall if he ever did something wrong, like chewing our slippers or wetting the sheets or pulling down the pillows. My uncle took him from us after he had grown up a bit. he used to leavehim alone in the house for about four hours while he went to work. and in afternoon around one when he used to come back, blackie would hear the key turning in the lock and immediately rush to the door and would stand against the wall near entrance on his two legs. My uncle would ask him "okay what did you do today?" so he will take him to whatever prank he had been up to and show him. My uncle really couldn't help laughing at his honesty and self punishment. it had become their daily ritual. How pets learn their lessons its so amazing. we had another baby we called her tipsy. she had learned to use the toilet after using it once the day she arrived. next day when my granny went to the bathroom she saw her poop there she thought one of us didn't use the bathroom properly as she had weak eyesight but then we cguessed that in wee hours of the morning tipsy must have used it and she was just a month old then.
Thanks for bringing up those memories back from my childhood.

LOL Cats do the darndest things don't they. They can be so comical one moment, and so serious the next. I know my cat Greta will tear all over the house teasing the dogs because she can hide under so many things and get up on top of so many other areas. When she decides it's time to stop that's it. She also likes to decide when it's time to receive some extra loving.

That is funny, but like I've said so many times it irrates me when people say animals are stupid. You treat them right and they learn just like kids learn. I can only imagine how funny that looked. These little guys bring so much pleasure into our lives. I'm not real crazy about cats, my asthma doesn't like them but I do have a little Maltese, you can see by the picture I replaced my avatar with. I can get along with poodles and this dog doesn't bother me too much. You know Carol as hard as times sometimes are I would NOT accept a million dollars for my Maltese. and I bet you feel the same about your animals. They are very smart, and most loving. Thank You for sharing your story. I love talking about animals !!!

My poor Nor was only 2 months old when he adopted us and Morgana was 3 years old and jealous as all git out! She chased and beat him up at every opportunity in spite of us yelling at her, applying a newspaper to her butt and putting her in the bathroom alone for 15 minutes. Older Tigger played with him and became his champion, but when he was elsewhere napping and Nor dared uncover to use the litterbox or eat, she'd torment him. Sassy, our 10 yr old, just hisses at him and left him alone and he her. Then came his growth spurts and suddenly he was bigger than Morgana. She didnt seem to notice nor did he for awhile until one day she was chasing him and he suddenly stopped, turned around and faced her. She stopped, put her nose out to sniff the air in front of him (I guess she wasnt sure it was him) and then turned and ran with him behind her. They went around a corner so I never knew what happened. Nowadays, they chase each other mostly in play, but once in awhile she'll become a wench again and attack him, but he has the final word this time!

Wow, I envy your good heart for cats. Very few people really cares for stray cats or dogs. Giving them a place to stay and feeding them is a good act! I am also fond of cats when I was young and like you, I have several cats being cared for then. Animals are also intelligent. They respond to our actions in accordance to how they were treated by us. What i like most on cats is they bury on the ground their "poh poh". Its really amazing how they think isnt it?

It must have been so funny to see him do that. I know my cats know what gets them in trouble and what they shouldn't do and I think it's just that they like to test us to see how far they can get. He probably decided he wouldn't be able to get away with it and felt it was better to retreat on his own. See what tomorrow brings, maybe he finally has given in that you're the boss in that area.

We have two cats up here. We found them abandoned and my sister is caring for them. Last year we were all sitting outside and saw a deer coming down to hill to eat corn.
One of the cats were walking up the hill on one side and the other on the other side. They were working there ways over to the deer. We started to laugh and wandered what they thought they were going to do once they got up their.
They were almost up to were the deer was and the deer moved and both cats jumped and came running down the hill as fast as they could. That was so funny.

LOL that's cute. You never know what they are going to do. I only have one but she is pretty funny. That's the thing with cats when you get one you might have it in your mind how it is going to be but they all have their own personalities and quirks. You just never know what you'll be getting.
