Everyone loves a gift, children who we all were are no different.
Parents love their children and spending money to buy them toys is one tangible way of showing their love. Nothing wrong as long as they don't over-indulge their children.
Children... new toys... happy? OF COURSE! :P

I think children need toys so the can lean hand moter skills. Toys allow children to lean how to use their body to function. For example a play tool set whould teach a child hand eye ccordination when using the plastic hammer to put the nail where it belongs. Granded children are creative and do not put things where they belong. That is why we need to guide them with this.

A lot of life skills are developed when a child plays with age-appropriate toys. For babies, even if they don't realy play with the toys yet, simply looking at them/listening to their sounds stimulates their brains. For pre-school aged kids, their motor skills are developed by manipulating the toys in their hands. As the child grows older, the more complex his toys become. This is to ensure that he is adequately challenged by the toys. Are they happy playing with these toys? They should be, it is one way by which manufacturers can ensure that their toys meet their purpose---to teach children/help them grow & develop as they have fun.

Yes, children require toys! Children learn through toys. There are a lot of educational toys available in the market. It is not necessary to buy expensive toys, if you give a child anything he/she will use his/her imagination and play with it. It is amazing to watch children at play. Try it, give a child a few plastic cups or anything and watch the child.
