wow that is quite strange... was this a private school ? why do private schools have excessive clothing in their uniform ? ive seen many private schools with uniform including long socks (to their knees), blazers, gloves, scarves, ties, etc.... and they even have to wear this in the SUMMER ! isnt this torturing the poor children ?

Yup! Wore one every school day for 6 years during secondary school. Wierd thing is, the girls all had to wear the school tie, a lovely black and baby diarrhoea brown striped tie, while the boys didn't have to wear one at all! Ripped off! lol

lol. Yep, we determined the colour rather quickly, and I've never looked at ties the same way ever since. You're so lucky your school doesn't make it compulsory. I should have swapped schools to avoid the embarrassment. LOL

lol ! yeah i know i like my school's entire uniform. girls get to wear white blouses / polos ( iprefer the blouse) with the school emblem on the pocket, a checkered blue plaited skirt, and black school shoes. at first we were so resistant to wearing the black SCHOOL shoes but now that we're in our final year of high school we're used to it n they are actually quite comfy.. as long as you get a good pair =)
btw guys wear grey pants / shorts and a white polo/ male blouse.

yes i have worn a tie, during my school days, as it was a part of our uniform, so definitely i had no choice just to wear it, and finally i started liking it

No, i have never worn a tie before, nor have i ever been asked to. I guess that's the luck of being a women, we don't have to wear them, just like a man doesn't have to wear a dress. lol

in primary school my winter uniform consisted of a longsleeve polo shirt buttoned up to the top, a TIE, brown stockings and an overdress..YUCK..so yes i used to wear a tie everyday to school for three months...ew. now i only wear our school tie...which i dont even own...hahaha and your school tie i 'wear' every now and then. im not a huge fan of tie-wearing. it sort of constricts you. i always see business people like tugging on their ties as if its the most uncomfy thing in the world...im not gonna make my husband wear a tie to our wedding unless he wants to...not that i ever plan to has a husband...but if ever...

I had to wear a tie as I was in Catholic Schools for my first 8 years of education. The only other time I ever wore a tie was a formal bowtie with a tux. YUCK. I have to say I did look handsome even though I hate dressing up. I tried to go without the tie but as I had to walk Mandy down the aisle she said I'd better or she;d disown me. Thanks for another good discussion. Happy postings from Grandpa Bob.
