What can you say about "spare the rod and spoil the child" ?

Is it a crime to discipline a child. You could be raising a criminal if you just ground a child at home without punishment, anytime he or she makes a major offense either in school etc.

"Spare the rod and spoil the child means that punishing your child can make him a better person. But i don't think so, it only depends on how do you manage your child. If you talk to your correctly and you explain to them the consequence, i think they will think first before doing something. If you will punish them hardly there is a tendency that when they are at home they will be as good as they can be, but if they are in school or any other places without your presence they will be acting like opposite as what you see. So think first as a parent before spanking or punishing your child.
