The first hand held mobile phone to become commercailly available was the Motorola DynaTAc 800x. This received approval in 1983. This was an analog phone. In the early 90's, the second generation (2G)phones became available, these are the phones we would have used over the last 10yrs or so. Now the third generation (3G) phones are currently on the market. The fourth generation (4G) will be on the market within the next few years. The phones will have more fetaures etc than what phones currently have.
