Antonella Barba: Do we REALLY need another party girl role model!?

There has been so much controversy over Antonella's racy pictures and whether or not they are actually her. But, the other pictures are indeed her. Pictures of her drinking, partying, "nearly" nude photo's of her on the beach with other women holding their breasts. Seriously, do we REALLY need another Lindsey Lohan, Brittney Spears, or Paris Hilton?? I think it's wrong of her to be even allowed to compete in a competition where the word "Idol" is involved. American Idol should be someone that people will idolize and respect. Carrie Underwood is a perfect picture of what an American Idol should be. Shame on Antonella. ;/

I think it matters a great deal. People are losing sight of what an American "Idol" is. As a parent, I wouldn't want my own daughter idolizing any of these girls like Brittney, Lindsey or Paris.
An idol is someone to be respected. But also someone that respects her/himself as well as everyone they come in contact with. An idol should be someone that everyone strives to be like. Someone that we should be proud to have them represent "American" idol for us. Personally, I don't think "any" pictures of Antonella, whether R or X rated are acceptable. She is a very pretty girl and shouldn't want to degrade herself in pictures like those.

I understand your concern, and I personally have a 15 year old daughter, but in life I try to make suggestions to her by how I model myself. Take a look at my slogan. My concern is again the same. Antonella is not running for president, and a female president could be someone that is idolized, not a little starlet. Just because someone sings or is born with a silver spoon in their mouth does not make them an idol in any way, shape or form. I think everyone going hog wild on this subject versus trying to get our president to stop a war is a little bit out of perspective. I will continue to model my beliefs to my daughter and set a good example. I will not expect some TV show to do it for me.

That's fine and dandy for you and anyone else. I am by no means saying that I think we should all choose to discuss American Idol over the president and his current agendas. But, can we at least discuss something other than that without saying it's "out of perspective?" That's kind of far fetched. Just because we discuss one thing, doesn't mean we're putting something else on the back burner. It's a forum packed full of different discussions and different opinions and I certainly respect yours. But, I'm not about to stop posting about anything but our president. No, she's not running for president, again, that's a bit far fetched, and with all due respect, out of perspective. To say that we shouldn't discuss anything other than our president and the war is just a bit.... insane. =/

I can't believe she is still on the show. I thought for sure that tonight they would have made some sort of comment about it, but nothing. She was there. They say the photos aren't of her, but...I've seen a few of them, even the more graphic ones...they sure look like her.

I think she is probably really embarrassed. I do think it will get her voted off.
