I love to eat deep fried foods like fried chicken, fish, nuggets etc.. but I don't like to fry them because I am afraid of the oil spattering and secondly, the floor and walls gets so oily and I have a big job cleaning after plus the smell lingers. I prefer to just steam, boil, broil, stirfry or roast my food mainly because it does not have too high a fat content and I need to be eating more healthy foods. So now, deep fried foods are only eaten once in a while. What about you? How do you normally cook your food?

I have not tried grilling food in the oven. I normally do it in a no stick frying pan so as to reduce fats. As for vegetables, I normally stirfry it or cook it in soup.

I prefer to grill meat, and to steam vegetables, or eat vegetables raw.
I try not to use oil at all when cooking. I am very health and weight conscious so I try to reduce the amount of fat in my foods, I found that most organic produce and meat tastes wonderful on it's own. For taste I'll add spices, but I never add sauces and oils, they just add unwanted calories and fats.

Your cooking methods are indeed more healthy and also I agrree eating vegetables raw is better than cooked because nutrients are lost in the process. However, I have not acquired a taste for eating most vegetables raw just some, like cucumber, lettuce, carrots, cabbages and tomatoes.

I don't do much roasting but I think I will get some recipes and learn to do some dishes using that method. I'm not sure about oven temperatures and timing. But it is an alternative method and is healthy.

What is it with that smell I cant stand it. My husband had deep fried something for himself one day when I wasnt home and when I walked in the first thing I noticed was that smell. We hardly ever eat deep fried. I usually bake my my meats or use my crockpot alot.

I can't stand the smell too. It is indescribable. It gets into my clothes and hair and lingers for a long time. I always spray air freshener everywhere after frying but I think I will not be doing it frequently as I said for health reasons.

i love to cook things in a casserole with lots of sauces and juices or on the hob in a large pan. I do sometimes fry and grill meats and they turn out lovely and once a week i make some wicked home made fries. I cook one soup at least once a day because my hubby always likes a vegetable soup. So every day i make different vegetable vaqriations in a chinese base. I make good oven food too..

I know that when it comes to cooking I have a few different ways of preparing mine & my other halfs meals. I enjoy using these methods when it comes to cooking as I find the way I cook.. I try to keep in mind both mine & my other halfs health.. And what is good for us & what way we should be cooking things. I know that when it comes to me cooking I try to be as healthy as possible when preparing these foods with these methods.
I know that whenever I pan fry things.. I will either use pam or I will use an oil.. That is lower in saturated fats. I've done research on what oils are the healthiest ones to use and this one was recommended to be one of the best. It doesn't add a lot of what they've termed "bad fat" and cholesterol to the foods you prepare with it.
I know that when we tend to fry our food if it is something like bacon, we use a technique where when it is finished cooking we transfer it to some paper towel and then blot the grease off of it. The paper towel doesn't stick to the bacon so you don't have to worry about hunks of paper getting stuck to the bacon. Usually if it's something like hamburger, we'll drain that using a strainer and get all the fat out of it that we can.
I enjoy using the crock pot for making stews and soups for us because it's very easy to use and it doesn't require much supervision. The soups and stews that I make both end up tasting absolutely awesome in the end and are full of flavor. I love how this method of cooking helps to allow the ingredients to blend in all together. I find when using other methods of cooking the ingredients don't end up blending as well together and you don't get a good mixing of flavors. The end product can taste bland or just weird because the tastes haven't melded.
If we make something that requires the oven we will use our toaster oven. It does the same job but takes less power to operate . In reality, there are a couple dishes that actually turn out better in the toaster oven than in a conventional oven. I know that my other half & me have made wings in the toaster oven and they turned out crispier and more done than when we had used the conventional oven instead.
I remember one time before I had even made cakes in the toaster oven that we have & they've turned out just as good, if not better than in the conventional oven. I don't know what it is but for some reason the food we make in the toaster oven just turns out better than in a regular oven. I mean some things of course don't taste quite as good or some things I cannot just cook in the toaster oven. But I have found quite a variety of foods to cook in the toaster oven that just taste so much better than a normal oven would make them taste.
I also will grill our foods sometimes as well. I find it is a lot healthier to cook our foods this way. And in the winter time since it's so difficult for us to BBQ because our propane freezes. This is one way I can cook our foods that is quite similar to using the BBQ. But a little bit different at the same time.
In conclusion.. These are the ways I tend to cook mine & my other halfs dinner. I find these cooking methods are a lot healthier than others. And I find they also help to make our foods taste rather good all at the same time! . .
Thanks for allowing me to share! xx

I typically bake, broil or steam my foods.
I love fried foods too - but now just buy fried chicken or fish out if I really want them. It is just so messy and a pain to clean up.

The last time I fried fish it got burnt, lol and I mean it was really black around the edges. So I had to struggle to get at the meat that was not burnt inside. Most of the time I buy fried chicken from outside, but not fish.

Even-though I am a vegetarian, I cook non-veg sometimes for my brother. Normally I avoid frying. Gravy is my choice. Moreover non-veg menu is once or twice a week. I add a lot of cooked medium-hot-flavored veg to my dish. For night dinner one glass milk with some well ripened fruits. This is secret of my energy(?!).

I want the food either baked, steamed and roasted. Besides, it lessens the oil that comes from the food.. It helps to have a healthy diet as well

I like two pot cooking... I don't like to mess with a lot of pans, pots, and dishes. I usually make pasta in one pot, veggies in a sauce in the other and voila! Or rice or rice noodles in one pot, a tofu curry in the other... Usually one pot for the grains, one for the veggies. It's even better when I make soup. Chili, potato soup, carrot-ginger, vegetable... easy peasy and a cinch to clean up.
Mostly though, I bake. I find it's the easiest for me and I screw up the least often. My husband is the master at stir fries, fried foods, gourmet... me, I keep it simple, follow the recipe and watch the time... I would say 'easy' is my preferred method!

My favorite cooking method - out of the freezer into the microwave. What can I say, I'm old, lazy and it's time to pamper myself.

I don't often use microwave to cook anything - just to reheat, unless it's the prepacked foods which just needs to be heated up using microwaving.

If you have a outdoor propane BBQ pit and a old deep pan & coffee can. You can still enjoy your fried foods. Heat the oil to desired temp. Cook. Pour oil in the coffee can, clean your pan w/some Dawn and turn the pot upside down until next time. I don't recommend reusing fish oil, but it makes a good weed killer around the fence line. I personally enjoy crock pot foods.

What you have said is absolutely right.
Methods such as steam, boil, broil, stirfry are healthy cooking methods and are good for the weight conscious.
Ofcourse we need to tickle our taste buds too. I also prefer coating fish with rice flour or rava and then deep frying, but this is not done on regular basis. Also, the problem of cleaning which should be done immediately after you have finished frying. While frying, leave the doors and windows open inorder to preven smell from lingering in the kitchen. Also after boiling, we can add lemon juice for taste.
Boiling, steaming, etc. prevent lot of health problems like clogging of the arteries, etc.

We normally have stir fried meals and soup-based meals, so there's only a little problem about cleaning up.

For noodles, I would prefer frying them. Because it is easy and you just need to dump all the other vegetables and meat into the frying pan.
However, for other food to go along, I prefer steaming and boiling. It is easy, clean, healthy. And it is a challenge to make steam food taste nice. Easy to decorate with carrots and capsicum. Easy to clean up.

At my hometown we mainly eat boiled, meshed boil and occasionally fried food. But when we cook chicken we usually fry, mainly because we don't know much recipe of the steamed or boiled chicken. I feel we should start having more of steamed food.

I love grilling my food! I grill chicken, tuna, pork and beef. I Don't overdo it since I wouldn't want my food to burn. I cook it just right with the right ingredients and herbs like rosemary and thyme and a little bit of mustard. Try it, it tastes mighty good!
