Mana, of the hottest Mexican rock bands of all time and the first Latin group to break into a top ten spot on the Billboard 200, has been spreading its positive philosophy (Love will find and answer to issues such as hunger, injustice and poverty) to large international audiences for more than 10 years now. The four member band formed by Alex Gonzalez, Fher Olvera, Juan Calleros and Sergio Vallin, has already sold more than 500,000 copies of their latest album Amar es Combatir and, of course, has used this success to continue supporting programs that positively change the world into a healthier environment for all human beings, regardless of their origin or legal status. Have you ever heard of these Mexican musicians? I hope so and, if not, I hope that you will from now on. You see, every time that you buy a CD from Mana or every time you go to one of their huge concerts, you are helping their Selva Negra Foundation (Black Forrest Foundation), which is an entity that has transformed these artists into environment activists in several countries in Central, North and South America, as well as Europe and the Caribbean. Through the Selva Negra Foundation, Mana has supported beach cleaning and reforestation plans in Colombia, Mexico, Spain and Venezuela, and sea turtle camps in Jalisco beaches. They have also supported world hunger projects such as The Growing Connection food plan in Ghana, Mexico and the U.S., and they are currently looking to produce some positive changes in the educational system of their native Mexico.
