What's retirement age at your country?
In Israel, it is 67 for men and 65 for women.
In Russia, it is 60 for men and 55 for women. I think it's OK. The Russian government has been discussing an opportunity to raise it 5 years.
What do you think is an optimal retirement age?

Here the retirement age is 65 for all people. I think that it really should be lowered, at least to 60. My reason for thinking that is because there are a lot of people that are in there 50's and 60's and have a hard time getting around. Sore joints, or medical reasons. And some people are having a hard time driving at that age, so it makes it hard for them to get to and from a job.

Right, I think that the retirement age should be lowered to 60 for men and 55 for women, like in Russia. In spite of the fact that statisctics states that the average living age is getting higher in developed countries, some people can hardly work till the age of retirement. Though probably, it depends on a person himself.

This is my aspiration. I want to retire early. I am already 47 going 48 years. Although our retirement age is 55 years for both genders, I believe in early retirement. It is not too late to start preparing. In fact, I have started preparing for one year already.

In India retirement age is 60 for Govt. employees. In recent days, there is murmurs that it may be enhanced to 62 years. All these depends, not only the life expectancy rate but so many economic factors, that concurring upon such decisions are too tough to take. Some political compulsions are also there. The foremost roadblock is the economic front. Actually, deferring retirement age defers payment of terminal benifits. In case of economic compulsions, this is a very handy tool to enhance retirement age, and defer obligations of payment to some extent.
