I am hearing more and more people who live in Michigan dicuss their frustration with living in this state due to a massive inability to find and keep quality jobs, the downward spiral in the real estate market and the bad state of the economy here in general. Is it just Michigan or are other states feeling the "pinch" as well? What is it going to take to turn this state around? I am very interested in hearing from fellow Michiganders as well as people in other states who are experiencing a similar crisis.

I use to live in Michigan, in Corunna about a half hour away from Flint. I didn't really have a problem finding a job. I actually had three of them at the same time. I worked out of Flint as a vaccuum sales person for Tristar, as a waitress in Corunna, and also built electric Motors for Motor Products in Owosso.

I think the fact that you had to work 3 jobs affirms my point that there are no jobs here. People should be ableto find one quality job that pays enough money so they don't have to work like dogs to make ends meet.

Actually, the job I had at Motor Products paid fine, but I loved waitressing so I decided to keep that job when I got hired by Motor Prod. And the job I had with Tristar was the very first job I got when I first moved there, but it involved too much driving.

none of the above jobs are jobs that I would even consider not trying to sound rude. I have a family and need a regular 9-5 to pay for daycare and the non-profit job I have now just does not cut it.

Hi, I live in New York and we have some of the highest taxes in the nation so we have big companies leaving all the time. Nestle left, Miller left, and many more. I think it is all over and we are all feeling the pinch.
