if drug addiction is a disease then why cant we get paid for it

some people say that drug addiction is genetic like being born retarded or with no feet. some of us are predisposed to this illness and struggle with it daily some of us don't all im saying is you have tried to stop and it is documented and still you get high on whatever you do. if truly you do have a problem then why cant the government compensate you for your illness. After all if uncle sam is the one who brought drugs to america in the first place.
