My son is 19 months and "Andreas Seta Rakyan Dewa" is his name. Andreas is Andrew in English. I hope St. Andrew will guard him forever. Seta mean "white", Rakyan is Knight, and Dewa is God. I found "Seta Dewa" name in the novel written by Father Y.B. Mangun Wijaya (one of very popular quality novel writter in my country)that was my first novel i've read. Seta Rakyan Dewa mean Knight of God that have a pure heart. Andreas is his Baptist name.

My oldest is a Jr. No guess there. The other 2 boys were named from baby book page numbers (Quincy Steven) and a TV show called Prentender/Walker (Jarod Cordell). My daughter is named after her father (Terry) and her Grandma and great Grandma. Her name is Teresa Dorthy-Marie.

I would choose my children's name on the basis of the initial letter of my name and the name of my wife. I am ofcourse not yet married but that's how I plan to keep the name of my children. My name starts with R and I am thinking that if it's a girl then my daughter's name will start from R and similarly the name of my son will be from the name of my wife.

I know where I got my sons name from, but not my daughters. My son's name is Malik and years ago I used to Watch New York Undercover with Malik Yoba. I was like wow, I really like that name, and I've kept it since then. My daughter's name is Maliyah and I can't remember where I heard it from but I love it. I've had them both in my head for almost 10 years, thankfully I had a boy and girl and finally got to use them last year. (and thankfully my husband agreed)

Malik is Arabic in origin and means angelic and Maliyah has Hebrew origin and means Virgin Mother of Christ. Wonderful names you've given your children :)

We don't have children yet, but we do have names picked out! My husband is Robert James III, so if we have a son he will be Robert James IV. If we have a daughter she will be Elizabeth Christine. My middle name Christine is from my grandmother and I want to keep passing it down.

As it turned out I named our girl, and hubby named our boy, the first child, almost two days the poor babe went without a name, as nothing seemed right.. I had the middle name - joseph.. so we looked in a baby names book, and he found the one he liked and to this day it's perfect.. Our daughter, I wanted a girl and if we had one I wanted to name her Anna, from one line in the new testament.. and that name is still perfect too.

Name for the kid is not a simple. We must think the future impac of that name we give. For example is my self. My name is Esti and in my country Esti is girl name but I am absolutely a man. With that name, I had a problems during my elementary school untill primary school. I always ashame with my name and that made me close person. But thank to my high school... I can survive and find the unique of my name that some one else not have. Man with the name Esti is only me in the world.

I have always thought "J" would be the first letter of my child's name. And there was this author that I really love, Johanna Lindsey. So I promised myself if I will have a baby girl, I'd name her Johanna and if I will have a baby boy, then it would be Johan. But my husband wanted something angelic. So when we had a boy, we named him Johan Gabriel. But when we thought of his nickname, we came up with JG, John, Gabby,... a friend of mine even suggested Joga. Yuck! ... lol... Until we decided to nickname him "Jor-el", Superman's father, since my husband and I are both fans of Superman. And now, Jor-el is a big fan of Marvel heroes like Spider-man and the X-Men. Well, he also likes DC heroes ..... particularly Superman. :-D

Well first off, I was not given a middle name because my parents said I could use my maiden name as my middle name when I got married. Yeah, that idea worked out great since I've never been married. Therefore I gave both my boys 2 middle names! The oldest is Quinton Tevon Christopher - I just liked the way Quinton Tevon sounded together, and Christopher is my dad's middle name. My youngest is Taylor Adrian Lee - Taylor Adrian because it could go either way for a girl or a boy and I liked the way it sounded. Lee because it was my dad's original middle name (he was adopted) and it could also go for a boy or a girl. So, no really interesting story there, just pretty much pulled everything off the top of my head!

If I have a daughter I want to name her Josephine or Josephina, after my grandfather and younger brother whose names are both Joseph. I don't want to name my son Joseph because I want to leave that option open for my brother to name his son Joseph. I've thought of maybe Jeramiah for a boy. I used to want to name my boys Jeremy and Timothy, but then my sister used those names for her boys!!!!!

When I got pregnant I had a contest at work and the prize was 2 tickets to Six Flags if I named the baby one of the names a co-worker had picked. They had CRAZY names, LOL. Blue, Seven, Big. *rolling eyes* Then I went through a phase where I was going to name him...ready for it? Montel. Yeah, LOL. I had the hots for Montel Williams at the time. Then I started thinking about how much I hated my name growing up. Everybody mispronounces it and wants to call me Angie or some other diminutive. Anyway I wanted a name that every other boy he went to school with didn't have. Around here it's Austin, Kyle, Trey and the ever popular Michael. I also wanted one that people couldn't try to shorten. If I wanted a kid named Bobby, I'd name him Bobby instead of Robert! Then I remembered the name Evan from As the world turns. 11 years later he's still the only Evan in his school. :-)

We had the hardest time coming up with a first name for our daughter, as my husband and I both liked different names. I loved Emily and he hated it; he loved Monique and I said no way. We finally narrowed it down to either Lily or Rachael, and we both agreed that we liked Rachael better. My husband left her middle name entirely up to me, and I was sneaky and decided to give her two middle names. :) Anna is for my grandmother, who passed away a couple of years before Rachael was born. Grandma was my best friend, and was ultimately responsible for my husband and I getting together in the first place - so I thought it was appropriate. Her second middle name, Grace, was chosen the very weekend after I learned that I was pregnant, before I even knew that she would be a girl. We were in church and during the sermon, our pastor said that "mercy is not getting what you deserve (ie, bad things) and grace is getting what you don't deserve." Thinking, how could I possibly *deserve* such a blessing?, I decided then and there that if my baby was a girl, Grace would be in her name somewhere. So, Rachael Anna Grace it is. I struggled for sometime with the initials spelling RAG but, since there's obviously another initial for our last name behind it, decided it wasn't such a big deal. And everyone seems to love her name, or at least they lie to us convincingly about it. ;)

Well that is quite a long name! But I'm sure after hearing how she got her name, she'd be happy and proud. Hmmm. you got me thinking, it would be nice to name twins, Mercy and Grace. I'll put that down to memory in case I'll have twin girls in the future. :)
