All purpose Cream

How can I make an all purpose cream or does anyone know an alternative to it? I'm looking for a cream that thickens and doesn't easily melt. I've previously tried Kraft's cool whip but it doesn't taste like the all purpose cream Nestle has in the Philippines. Is heavy cream an alternative? Or would you guys know what's the next best thing?

Hi Crishabs, a good alternative to cream is to use can milk. It's thick and it is good in soups and sauces because it doesn't curdle when heated. it also stores well.

Hi! Appreciate the response. Well, what i need is something thicker than milk. I need it for ref cake and pies actually. So I need something that will really stand and hold together the cake. :)
