Anyone else feel sort of guilty when NOT joining a group?

For example, I answered a question on the "Children" group but I'm already in parenting and probably some others that pertain to the kids so adding on yet another group just isn't appealing to me. But when it says "Things I care about" and then "Children" and I click no I feel sort of guilty. LOL Like someone KNOWS I clicked no and now they think I hate kids! LOL Silly, I know. But sometimes when I click NO for adding on that interest group I feel like it's asking about ME personally and someone will go "Oh, so she DOESN"T LIKE TO SAVE MONEY? What does she think she's rich?" LOL
Anyone else get this little twinge of guilt?

No, in fact, it annoys me, actually. Besides, they have a couple of times offered me to join groups I have already joined! It happens if I answer a friend's discussion started in a group. Where you started this discussion? Alright, I post it and I'll see...

I get a few confusions like that going.
Sometimes its based on age..."fall in love" as something that I want to do with my life feels in approriate at my age...I have the love thing going...LOL.
Then, as you point out, the redundancies get me. I post in crafts but think the subject matter might also fit in another group like "making things" or something similar. I always wonder if people are secretly seething because I didn't choosed a group they belong to for the discussion starter!

I also avoid adding a lot of things to my interests. Not neccesatily that it's not an interest it's just I can go to that area at anytimer if needed. I feel there are enough members that respond to my duscussinons that they'll find me or I'll find them for the friendship addy etc. Also I tend to go to the general area checking diffent interests also. Thanks and happy postings from Grandpa Bob

Nope none. I might answer a discussion in a topic that doesn't really interest me because either my friend started the discussion or that one discussion peaked my interest. But I don't need to be bogged down with those discussions all day. If it's not for me, it's not for me.

Nah, I don't feel guilty. I find some of the things quite funny, like children, hobbies I enjoy. I don't consider children a hobby! LOL.

I usually add all the groups of interest i don't already have in my list, Just because there are different people in each group and they might have different discussions for me to answer :) I don't see any harm in joining as many groups as possible, I guess it just means more discussions to choose from when i'm searching around for them :)

No, as you have said you are already in parenting and children is probably a similar group.
I have commented on this before, I think MyLots need to reorganize and get their groups simplified. Losing weight and weight loss should be one group, so should MyLot and myLot.com.
As for feeling guilty, no, last I checked this is voluntary and I sincerely doubt that they are tracking who says No to what. I must admit sometimes I say Yes, just so they don't keep putting that extra page up.

Lol, I don't feel guilty in the slightest.
For me it's all about MY interests, and what I like to talk about. I won't add a group that I'm not really interested in, or a group thats kinda similar to another one that I may already be in. It doesn't make sense.
I'm glad that we have this option with MyLot. Other forums you have to join a full group to even be a part of a discussion and I don't like the way they're all clumped together like that.
At least with MyLot we have different options and we're given the choice.
