Should I contact social services regarding my obese stepchild??

This question stems froma previous post and I thought it would be a good idea to start a new post regarding this subject. To make a long story short, my stepchild is 10 years old and weighs about 230 pounds if not more. The mother refuses to put her on a diet and my husband gets offended everytime I make suggestions. Someone suggested that I anonymously contact social services. I'd like to get the input of others. I think I could be getting my husband into a lot of trouble even though he only gets her every other weekend. Would be interested in hearing your responses.
