Why is it said that GOD is in INDIA ??

i m not intending to hurt anyone's religious feelings,, but i have read a lot of indian books on religion,,and they say if there is GOD,its INDIA where he is ! WHY is it said so,,, one way everywhere not only in india, bu tevertywhere it said that GOD is omnipresent,,then why do pilgrimages are given so much importance?? Why INDIA has got the reputation of the place of GOD ??
