Laptop processor

Hello there,can anyone tell me,what laptop shopuld I buy considering an avarage budget?What processor should it have?Which is the best and why?I have AMD sempron processor in myn ACER laptop,and I wonder if it's posible to change it to some better one.If I do so,shall I need to increase the memory (it's 512Mb)?
I'd appreciate it so much if someone out there would help me and spend me a minute of his/her time.

Please search more on the competition price and see what popular model you like. What service (far or closed to home)and how long are they going to insure the new laptop?

the new one is Pentium M (Mobile)
To change it you can follow the hand book. Is your mainboard support that model? And you have to change the fan as well. Your RAM can be upgraded easily from 512Mb to 2000 Mb(But based on the handbook)better than changing the processor with the fan (if it doesn't match the main board.) The RAM bus should be the same as your old RAM eg. New RAM PC1200 /512Mb + New RAM PC1200 1 Gb
Your main board FSB will have a good function.
I am not a laptop technician but I give you my experience bit opinion. I am still learning it.
