Has anyone read or listened to the Book on CD? I'm currently listening to it and it's and awesome book! I'm even half tempted to get the book afterwards to read it.
Here's a blurb from the Barnes and noble website:
It's a sunny afternoon in Boston, and as far as Clayton Riddell is concerned, life couldn't be any better. The Maine-based artist has just inked a lucrative contract for his first graphic novel. But in an instant, his life -- and human civilization -- is turned upside down by an event known as the Pulse, a brain-zapping burst of energy that turns the millions of people with cell phones pressed against the sides of their heads into mindless killing machines. Those lucky enough not to be using a cell phone at the time are spared from the gruesome transformation but must somehow survive the nightmarish aftereffects: cars crashing, planes falling from the sky, hungry gangs of zombies, etc.

I'm not done with the cd's yet but I would still like to discuss the book with anyone who as read it.

I read it. I also wrote abot it on my blog :)
If you want I'll give you the links to those posts after you finish the book so as not to spoil the ending for you :)
It was an okay book but it was a bit too much like The Stand.
Besides that I really liked it and I would be glad to discuss it with you if you want :) (at least as much as I remember as I read it like an year ago :) )

I finally finished it. I thought it was a really good book, but I didn't like the ending. It was just flat to me. I was so disappointed because I liked it up until then.

Then try reading The Stand, it has the flattest ending I ever saw. :( :( (plus it's a lot like The Cell only the people don't get zombies they die of a flu and only a few ones are left)
However what I liked the most in Cell is the fact that's there's no divine intervention as in other King's books (for example Desperation and The Stand). Oh, an I also liked the fact that it stopped in the perfect moment (well to tell the truth I would have skipped the whole last sequence completely as it seems very implausible to me, the whole reversed pulse kind of stuff).
If you're interested here's what I wrote about it when I finished it:

I have read all of Stephen Kings books and I have to say it was one of my favorites. It is alot like "The Stand" but it was more fast paced and it kept me engrossed I read it in like 2 days I couldn't put it down. Not all of his books are like that. I had a hard time staying interested in "Liseys Story". It was slow starting I think. If you like Stephen King and you haven't read "IT" its a must it is by far my favorite.
