I'm a stay at home mom too. I would love to be able to work from home, but haven't found anything reliable or profitable. I'd never trust my kids to the day care system in my area. That's why I don't work. If you can find a reliable sitter or day care, maybe going to work part time would work for you. After being home with my boys for 2 years, I think the guilt of going back to work and missing their milestones, and overall day to day activities would eat at me. I honestly don't know if I could do it. More power to anyone who can.

I am not mom or dad. But I earn from my home by selling different products on internet by joining Affiliate Program. Now days, I am teaching this to my Aunt. She is a home mom.
It's not easy but not impossible either. You need to learn HTML and other internet marketing things. It will take time who has no idea about HTML, websites, domain names.
There are enough Free information on internet. Here are few links to learn HTML:
http://www.w3schools.com/html/html_intro.asp
http://www.htmldog.com/
http://www.html.net/tutorials/html/introduction.asp
After learning little HTML, you can learn little SEO (search engine optimization) and internet marketing. Here are few links:

Then you can promote any affiliate program. Keep learning and earning from your own home.
Best of luck :)

When my children were small, I stayed at home for 13 years. I earned money by selling Avon. Then the children got old enough and I took a part-time job. I also earn money on the internet. If you can stay at home and earn a little money on the side, then do it. Enjoy your children when they are little. They grow up so fast and you do not want to miss a second of it. Take lots of pictures also. Capture all those wonderful years since they will pass very quickly.

I am also a stay at home mom. I quit my job when my daughter was 4 months old. You can try several things to make money from home. If you look around the internet you can find writing jobs for magazines, blogs, etc.
You can also do mystery shopping. This is what I do. I don't make a lot of money, but any extra helps and I can bring the kids with me. I made over $200 from the end of October to the end of December. That's not bad considering I spent probably 12 or so hours total doing them. (and didn't have to pay for a sitter). Here's some sites that are reputable:
www.shopnchekshopper.com
www.mysteryshops.com
www.experienceexchange.com
You may also want to put in an add in a local paper and see if anyone needs a sitter. This way you could still make some extra money and be home with your child.
Hope some of this helped.
