I love japanese poetry!!! I would like to know who else likes to read japanese poetry!!

Wow, some of the people commenting here realy knows their stuff. I've read quite a few translations - in English (do not know Japanese)and I love the simplicity of the verse and the big space left open to think on. Hope this makes sence

i never had the chance to read one but i believe it is as good as the lyrics in every japanese song. ive heard some scraps from various movies that consists of japanese culture. and i find it interesting, though i do not understand entirely because i can only understand few. still translations are big help in understanding the language.

yea your right, you can get alot of useful words and phrases from reading them, i sit there translating them and get alot of practice out of it!!! so yea if anyone wants to improve their japanese read some old poetry!!! hehe
