I know that my kids will agree with much of this stuff. This was in my emails and I thought I would share it with everyone.
1. You've ever ended a sentence with the word PSYCH!
2. You can sing the rap to the Fresh Prince of Bel-Air and can do the Carlton
3. You know that "WHOA" comes from Joey on Blossom
4. If you ever watched "Fraggle Rock"
5. It was actually worth getting up early on a Saturday to watch cartoons.
6. You wore a ponytail on the side of your head.
7. You got super-excited when it was Oregon Trail day in computer class at school.
8. You made your mom buy one of those clips that would hold your shirt in a knot on the side.
9. You played the game "MASH"(Mansion, Apartment, Shelter, House)
10. You wore stonewashed Jordache jean jackets and were proud of it.
11. You know the profound meaning of " WAX ON , WAX OFF"
12. You wanted to be a Goonie.
13. You ever wore flourescent clothing. (some of us...head-to-toe)
14. You can remember what Michael Jackson looked like before his nose fell off and his cheeks shifted.
15. You have ever pondered why Smurfette was the only female smurf.
16. You took lunch boxes to school...and traded Garbage Pailkids in the schoolyard.
17. You remember the CRAZE, then the BANNING of slap bracelets.
18. You still get the urge to say "NOT" after every sentence.
19. You thought your childhood friends would never leave because you exchanged handmade friendship bracelets.
21. You ever owned a pair of Jelly-Shoes.
22. After you saw Pee-Wee's Big Adventure you kept saying "I know you are, but what am I?"
23. You remember "I've fallen and I can't get up"
24. You remember going to the skating rink before there were inline skates.
25. You have ever played with a Skip-It.
26. You remember boom boxes and walking around with one on your shoulder like you were all that.
27. You remember watching both Gremlins movies.
28. You thought Doogie Howser/Samantha Micelli was hot.
29. You remember Alf, the lil furry brown alien from Melmac.
30. You remember New Kids on the Block when they were cool...and don't even flinch when people refer to them as "NKOTB"
31. You knew all the characters names and their life stories on "Saved By The Bell," The ORIGINAL class.
32. You know all the words to Bon Jovi - SHOT THROUGH THE HEART.
33. You just sang those words to yourself.
34. You still sing "We are the World"
35. You tight rolled (or "pegged") your jeans.
36. You owned a banana clip.
37. You remember "Where's the Beef?"

say "What you talkin' 'bout Willis?"
39. You're still singing shot through the heart in your head, aren't you?!

LOL These are so funny, both my daughters were born in early 80s. I remember all of this stuff. Amazing how each generation adds its own marks on the world.

"Now this is a story all about how my
My life got flipped turned upside down
And I'd like to take a minute, just sit right there
I'll tell you how I became the prince of a town called Bel-Air..."
LOL I loved that show...
Bon Jovi is still my guilty pleasure -- last time I saw them in concert was a little over a year ago. My sister and I couldn't let Jon Bon Jovi come to town and not get a good look at him ;)
Oh gosh yes, I had Jelly Shoes. No one should be wearing all plastic shoes in the heat of the summer LOL But they went nicely with my fluorescent orange shirt :)
Thanks for the walk down memory lane! I graduated high school in 1981 and I remember pretty much everything on this list! :D
:::: wanders off singing... "I play my part and you play your game...You give love a bad name"... ::::

I had to look up the lyrics though as I kept getting stuck in my mind and repeating the chorus...lol I guess that's better than the other day when Seseame Street was playing over and over again in my head...hehee

OMG that is soooo great That was my faves all put together! I actually was a huge Bon jove fan I went to his concert in AZ at the state fair in like 88 or something! Also don't forget the fleeting craze of LA gear shoes! an apperal I was a junkie and nmaild away for every Hot colored shirt they had and the jeans with the pink leather straps down the side!
Also remember the color change shirts? that changed with heat? Family ties, Facts of life, Afterschool specials, folding noted in little packages?and how about those short little ankle boots in all different colors? The breakfast club, Pretty in pink, St elmos fire? Or Pogo balls does anyone remember those? I had one The Cabbage patch craze? it could go on forever those were the days!

Gosh, Butterfly, that made me laugh and get all teary, because that IS my childhood. And, I had forgotten so much, because I grew up so fast after my father passed away and after we moved. I loved reading this, it is so true. And it makes me reminisce all of the days gone by. Thank you so much. I will show it to my sisters and friends.

Well, I was singing the Bon Jovi song in my head, but we had our own words. I don't think they'd be appropriate to post here LOL
Some of the songs that were popular in the 80s are making their way back into circulation. My kids are utterly amazed when I know the words, and even more so when I tell them the song was "IN" when I was their age.
