You should check out my favourite romantic comedy "fools run in" about an American man and a Mexican lady who fall in love, and get married, and have to deal with their crazy families. That's my favourite of all the "girlie movies" I've seen.

That is a good movie, but I don't remember it being a tear jerker at all.

Untamed Heart with Christian Slater and Maresi Tormei (sp?) is a very good girlie movie tear jerker. Anotehr really good one is Lady Jane, based on a true story in medival England. The Lion King also makes me cry.

How about pretty women with Julie Roberts, Ghost, an angel for may, step mom, sleepless in Seattle, raise your voice, ice castles, loves comes softly and part 2, pay it forward, the mask with cher, notting hill, salena, the story of Patsy Cline, my girl, armageddon. man I can go one. I have seen of few here lately but I can't think of the names of them.

Oh yes! Pay It Forward and Losing Isaiah will definitely get the tears out!!! What about that movie where the guy is dating this girl who is terminal (only he didn't know till later). She is dating him as her project, more or less. She does die....tear jerking part, but he learns a lot from her. I wish I could remember the name.

It is not a girly movie that will make you cry but one that deals with some moving issues, it is based on a true story and the one scene where the character loses his Mother brought tears to my eyes.
If you want a movie about women that can make you cry that you haven't seen why not try something older rather than something new.
Such as Backstreet with Susan Hayward, Imitation to Life with Lana Turner, Madame X with Lana Turner, I Want to Live with Susan Hayward.
When these movies came on I always gave mom a box of tissues before the movie started, saved time for looking for them later.

If you want to cry, check out Tim Burton's Big Fish. I think even my boyfriend was moved. It's afantasy/drama about a guy coming to grips with his relationship with his father. His father tols him all these tall tales about his life (that's where the fantasy aspect comes in). ANd the son is trying to figure out who his father really is, through these stories. It's fun, but also very moving.
Whale Rider is also a total tear jerker. It's a fantastic movie about a young Maori girl who wants to win her grandrather's respect by doing traditional Maori things, that girls are not suppsed to do. She has to fight so hard...it's very moving, and inspirational.

Have you seen the English Patient? It's an epic with a tragic love story. Another is The Bridges of Madison County. This film has a tragic love story but it is on a smaller scale.

Apparently this is an older movie but I'd never heard of it until the boyfriend got it for me. It's called "Nell" and stars Jodie Foster. What a great movie that was. Jodie Foster does an amazing job portraying the lead character and you really feel for her when the situation gets out of hand. It made me bawl but then alot of things do... LOL.

There are a few that I consider real girl movies.
1. Boys on the Side with Drew Barrymore, Whoopi Goldberg and Mary Louise Parker. It's about the relationship between the three women and definite a tear jerker.
2. Beaches with Bette Midler and Barbara Hershey. It's also about the relationship between the two women and you WILL cry!
3. Boys Don't Cry with Hilary Swank. She won an oscar for this performance as a transgendered teen. It sure made me cry.
When I looked at these movies on IMDB there were some recommended titles that if you liked them you should try these-
Where the Heart is
Under the Tuscan Sun
Terms of Endearment
Riding in Cars with Boys
Shadowlands
Wild at Heart
I've never seen any of these recommended movies.
Hope that helps.
