New Job?

I have been working with my present company for 2 yeaars now. Although there wer previous job offers with a higher salary, I managed to stick with my present employer for security and for my friends. Something happened recently that made me want to apply for a job somewhere else. I'm currently happy with the people i work with and i feel bad thinking that I will be seperated from these peopple. However, the salary that is being offered by another company is twice as much compared to what i'm receiviing now. what do you think is the best thing to do?
