I love Coke and I drink way to much of it. I know I do but I had no idea how much caffine I was getting. According to the wall street journal, The big soft drink makers no plan to disclose the caffeine content on the product label. This will allow the consumer to compare the caffeine content of various soft drinks. Here is a sample of the amount of caffeine that is in some popular drinks for a 12 ounce serving: Coka cola classic 34.5 mg Diet Pepsi 36 mg Pepsi 37.5 mg Diet Coke 46.5 mg Mountain Dew 54 mg Diet Pepsi Max 69 mg Full Throttle 108 mg Tab Energy 108 mg There is more interesting information if you are interested. This information can be found in the Feb 27th issue of The Wall Street Journal on Page D1.

I recently watch a program on the bbc that talked about caffine intake. It took 2 people from a radio station that normally have about 9 cups of tea before about 11am. One of the candidates remained on normal coffee, while one was switched to decafe. Both performed a maths test and a reaction test before the experient was conducted. The candidates spent a week on the selected drink (neither knew which one had the decafe or the normal). This was done to wean the person on the decafe off the cafine. And at the end of the week the results showed that both of the results of the test performed after the experiment were around the same as the experiemnt conducted before for both candidates. YES! Caffine does not improve your reactions! its was really fascinating

Wow , that explains a lot. Im also mad for coke....its just sooo good. I thought I could get it out of my system but it really rocks. Ive been drinking DC for years now and I love all the lemon, lime, cherry and especially vanilla coke. The red and white reminds me of Santa ! I am worried that my dentist hates the stuff but hes not a cola junkie like me. Even those cola flavour sweets are cool. I remember as a kid I walked about 5 miles to a store just to buy 2 cans of coke! Ive tried caffine free but it just didnt do it. Im as dry as a stick now so im off for some of the carmel juice...... PEACE...............

Thanks for the info. The only place I get caffeine from, is from my 3 cups of coffee in the morning. If I choose to have a pop, it will always be diet and caffeine free.

I would think the with all the food labels the the FDA is mandating...they would want these companies to put how much caffeine there is in the product! Heck! I had no clue that Diet Coke had more caffeine than regular Coke!!! And here I want to drink coffee because I have really been tired. LOL I wonder how much caffeine is in tea compared to coffee?

I like Coke too, and always knew there was some caffeine but didn't realize it was that much. I also always thought that Mountain Dew had the highest caffeine content, they used t say it had more caffeine than a cup of coffee. I've always avoided drinking Mountain Dew for that reason.

I too drink way too much Coke. I only drink the Classic Coca Cola at that too. Anything else just doesn't taste right. Pepsi I hate, Mt Dew I hate, Tab I used to drink but don't like anymore and I've never tried Full Throttle. I don't drink a lot of coffee, (maybe one cup every three days) but I do like tea. In saying that, I don't really drink much tea - maybe three cups a day at most. I know I'm drinking far too much in the way of caffeine. I keep saying I should cut down but I never do anything about it. Maybe it's time to start.

Hi! I had to give up caffeine because I have a sensitivity to it. Thankfully, I can tolerate chocolate! LOL I think most decaf coffees still contain about 3% of the original amount of caffeine, but it's not enough to bother me, so I can still enjoy coffee. The rest of the time I drink decaff or caffeine free soft drinks and teas. There's a new white tea on the market that's supposed to be decaffeinated. If it doesn't say so on the label, I probably won't trust it! :-)

Yup, it is astounding! The new DSM (book that houses the diagnoses used in mental health) is going to contain Caffeine addiction as a full-fledged diagnosis. We have a growing problem of teens and children being addicted to caffeine. The withdrawal symptoms from caffeine are very troublesome!

No wonder I like Diet Coke better than Diet Pepsi! I drink very strong coffee, too, including Turkish.

Wow, this is a great list, must try that tab. I am going right now on about 3 hours sleep. 2nd night this week, I am dragging, right now i am trying to stay up until about 11 so that I will get some sleep tonight and be awake during the day like a normal person for the next few days. Tab maybe something to keep up my sleeve for these low sleep days. Thanks.

I always drink Diet Coke and I wasn't aware that diet coke had that much caffeine, although there is one that has no caffeine, I might have to get that from now on...

I´ve given up drinking Coke altogether. Apart from the fact that any type of Coke contains far too much caffeine it´s really harmful for the stomach. Have you ever tried putting a piece of meat into a glass of Coke and leave it overnight? I´ve done it and you know what happens? The meat simply disappears, literally eaten up by the Coke. Imagine what it does to our organs...

Coke Soft Drink - This is a favorite soft drink of some of my family members.
Thanks for posting this. I don't drink soft drinks with caffeine because they give me a migraine headaches. But I have family members that drink 3 or 4 or more a day. I will have to pass this on to them. Thanks again.

Caffeine is a concerning thing that we intake. I like Mountain Dew and am glad I gave up the majority of pop just for the new year. It also makes womens bones brittle. Tis a shame for something that we enjoy so much would be really bad for us. Thanks for sharing this information here at Mylot.

Yea, I knew it was bad - Diet Pepsi here, and way too much of it. I am pretty proud of myself though - I've cut back to half of what I used to drink in a day.

Wow, I had always figured that from one brand to another, the caffine amounts were pretty much the same! This reminds me of the bad tabacco guys, Diet Coke gets me more "hopped" up, so I want more! Maybe I should change, thanks for the information!
