Job woes

Today I interview (or attempted to interview) for my first travel industry job. Travel agent at AAA Travel. I went through everything my instructors (I majored in Travel/Tourism in college) told me to do while interviewing but no dice. I had to do a stupid personality assessment and 1 other test before I could actually interview for the position. I know the stuff I'd be doing inside and out, I passed all my college classes with flying colors, yet my personality fails me from getting a job I'd love to have. On top of that, there's a 6 month waiting period before you can re-apply with them. In that amount of time, I can apply to tons more travel industry jobs, but right now (or for the next 5 years) this is the kind of job I want. I guess it's back to checking out the airlines I want to work for. Anyone else get discouraged during the job hunt/interview process?

I can certainly understand the frustration when you spend so much time in college, then have trouble getting a job. I remember interviewing for so many jobs and being told in some I just wasn't the right choice for them right now and I could apply again in the future. Good luck getting the position you want and hope you are successful finding a job quickly.

All the time!! I just quit looking. I'm not going to lower myself to the standards of a bunch of people who don't think I know what they're doing, just because it's their dam policy, I'm going to make money my way!!!
