This is the age old problem, the classic chicken and egg problem - what came first, the chicken or the egg. Here is another illogicality pertaining to omnipotent and benevolent Gods -
If God is omnipotent and benevolent, then why does He not do something about the suffering and misery in this world? He is omnipotent, so he CAN do something about suffering and misery on planet earth, so why does he NOT?

That's because life was meant to be that way. Suffering and misery are just parts of life like happines. If there were no sufferings, that would be heaven. If you still don't understand, then you should read more about where religions stand on these issues.

Im a catholic christian.. And I believe in GOD..Like the wind we cannot see HIM but we ca feel HIM... I know I do...
but since I was a child I cant help but question how everything started?.. where did we come from.. who made the world? Is there a GOD? and all that...and then I realized that im not alone in this search for truth.. but an eithiest friend of mine asked me... where did your GOD came from.. I said he's always been there before land & time began..and he said lame excuse for a question you cant answer.. he told me why not think straight and use your common sense..and he said "You say God created everything.. well I say People created GOD... there was no GOD before.. well not until the prophets starts telling people about GOD..GOD is a word of mouth.. and it spread out.. People who wants to dominate humanity created GOD to scare us.." when my friend said that.. I got really scared.. what if its true that theres no GOD... Where would I get my strenght..

That's the mong popular answer among atheists, agnostics, and skeptics. The answer is that God is ETERNAL. Sounds a bit super natural? Not as super natural as "The universe created itself."
Everything including our universe lies to the laws of physics, and to our logic. In short words, every tthing has a start and an end. The universe was proven to have a start (even before the big bang, because the actual infinite is not part of our logic, so the universe can't be eternal), this means that it cannot exist by itself. It must had a cause.
Since the cause is something beyond our understanding, this implies that it's something super natural (that's because "super natural" means something we can't understand). Look at the scientific explanations (theories) about the first cause. They are ale based on assuming super naturals. Now, God's nature is beyond our comprehension, but his existance is not. God is the first cause which there is no cause for Him. Why? Because God doesn't follow the rules of physics, while the universe does.

We must undestand that time is a human element. God is not under the control of time. Therfore there was not a begining for God, he has alwys been.
Also God does not give use the porblems of this world, we bring it on through our own sinful nature when Satan temps us. It is how we react to thoses situations that test your faith in God or not.
