i started having aches on the left side of my chest, around left rib, when i was pregnant more than a year ago. i found it hard to do stretching. i was thinking that it was a vein or just because i'm pregnant and i was always lying on my left side when sleeping. but now that my baby is already a year old , there are times that i still have aches in my side. last week, i managed to find a small lump near my left rib. when i press it, it doesn't hurt but i'm still bothered by it. i've checked webmd for the symptoms but i still want to check it with the doctor.

Hi,
You need to see a doctor soon. The earlier the better, it is also stressful when you keep on thinking "am i sick or not"? better solve your (little) problem now.

Our hormones do strange this to us when we are pregnant and for a long time afterwards however a lump is a lump and should be checked out asap.
If its is nothing then you wasted a trip to the doctors.
If it is something serious you will save your a lot of uncertainty!

Lumps can be dangerous. Do not neglect. God forbid, but if it is dangerous, you need to take treatment as soon as possible. That said, most likely the kind of lump you describe is not of the dangerous kind. But in medicine, you cannot rest with 'most likely', you just have to be sure. So check it out today with your doctor. And get the tests done as soon as possible. The sooner the better, because if it is bad, less will have to be taken out in the earliest stages, less likely-hood of chemotherapy in the earliest stages, and so on and so on. So do not delay!
