ok.i thought this was crazy.i took my mom shopping an she wanted to go to the goodwill store.i said ok ill take you to the goodwill. i thought i might find some good deals for my grandson.an plus i hadnt been there all winter.i notice my mom was looking at bras.i happen to look up seen the sign for the price underwear.$1.99 to 2.99 bras $4.99 to 7.99.i told my mom there is no way im going to let her pay that price for used bra an panties.some of the underwear even had stains in them an the bras were worn out.i ask they sales floor lady if that was the right price an she said yes an i showed her a pair of under with stains an she told me yes they may have a small stain but they are clean.i told her she was crazy.finally i convenced my mom not to buy any underwear or bras.an took her to a diffrent dept in the store.an i notice the mens underwear were the same price..i thought who in the world would pay that for used under wear an who would buy used under wear anyway {beside my mom}.well we ended up leaveing an not buying anything.an i took her to walmart an got her some New underwear an bra.i was wondering if anyone buys used underwear an bras.an if you do. do you worry about catching a crabs or something. {ps.i can sell my used undies at my garage sale for 25 cents a peice.guarantee they will have only a small stain}lol

LOL, why would people sell them in a store? ive never seen anyone doing that over here, ive seen people selling used clothes but me and my boyfriend wouldn't buy them, we would only buy used electric appliances that's only if we were quite poor but other than that we buy everything new. ive seen people selling used underwear on the net with stains in and to me that's gross, lol but some people probably buy them! +

Whoa..certainly not me lol. There's no way I would buy used clothes esp. undies. That's the craziest idea ever. I'd rather go for sale in the mall (new stuffs of course) lol. I myself never buy used stuffs, as things here are quite cheap so that kind of idea never crossed my mind. Well, I'm kind of close minded at this term lol. Cheers to you!

Even 1 cent would be too much money for a pair of used underware...and stains...EW! I would be embarrassed to even donate this lol. I can understand buying used bras if you didn't have much money or just didn't want to spend much, but I'd rather wear no underware at all than stained undies from who knows where.

I would be so embarrassed if I was to donate underwear with stains on them I agree with you. I just cant believe that thrift shops sell panties with stains its beyond disgusting. Not only that but you can go to burlington coat factory or t.j.maxx and find plenty of brand new really cute panties for $1.99 or $2.99. Why in the world would thrift shops charge so much. They get these donations for free then turn around and charge so much for them. Its turned me off and I rarely shop at thrift shops anymore. There prices have gotten to high and I can go to stores and find things brand new for sometimes less then the thrift stores sell them for.

Why they charge these prices for them used, is beyond me, and why would anyone pay this price for used? I get like 5 pairs of underwear in a package for like $7, and Bras brand New at Walmart for under $10. I guess to me, I see no need for Frequenting Thrift stores as I think their prices are out rageous. A lot of the time I would rather try and give away my clothes to someone who could really use them than give them to a place to charge almost as much as I paid New, and then wonder where the $$ really goes from that. To me, I feel there needs to be a limit to what a place like that can Sell, and the price they can get for it.

your right, krausehome.these prices are outrageious.an the thrift stores are makeing a killing. i give my clothes away to other family memebers..but not my {undies} i trash them..yes,there really should be a limit on what they can sell.like you said i gave $5.96 for a pack of undies for my mom at walmart.an they were alot cheaper than goodwill.an what goodwill do with the money they collect is beyond me.

I try to sell things in my yard sale (not panties though) and whatever doesnt sell after a certain amount of time I put out for free. When there is some left over that still has not been taken and its still in good condition I donate it. I dont take it to the thrift stores I take it to this place locally that you can drop off your things and get whatever you want for free. I have gotten so many clothes for my children and I there that I do not even bother to go to thrift stores anymore. I feel good when I have things to give away to people and I feel great knowing that there are so many generous people out there that donate so much that I am able to get nice free things for my family.

Lol I didn't know stores were even allowed to sell used underwear. I can kind of understand selling used bras, but not panties. I would never be able to buy used panties; it would just be too weird to me. And especially at that price! There are a bunch of stores you can go to and get underwear new for less than $1.99 to $2.99. That is outrageous! If she's looking for something cheap tell her to go to the clearance section in a store...and get some cheap underwear...at least it'll be new!

I would not sell or buy used underwear. I wouldn't buy it cause you have no idea where it has been, eww and I wouldn't sell it cause I would have no idea where it would be going to, I sure wouldn NOT want anyone sniffing my undies, I wouldn't even want the thought of it, as it gives me the creeps. My undies are fine at home or in the bin when not suitable for me anymore. I don't care if I could sell them for 100$ I don't want anyone sniffing my undies imagining me in it, that's just some vibes I don't want!

that is very pricey for used undies.........there used to be a guy on ebay who made tons of money selling used underwear... I never quite understood why people would buy used underwear on ebay anyway, cause then you have to pay for shipping too?!?

I can't decide if that is more gross or incredible. I would be so embarassed if I were the salesperson and to have to justify the product and the price. Yes, I would be worried about catching something.

I've never understood how someone could stand to buy used undergarments period. I could understand if they were clearly brand new, price tag still attached, obviously donated because the person didn't wear that style kind of thing. But actually been used stuff? Eeew no. When my mother and I volunteered at a thrift store we always threw out the used undergarments and other volunteers would get mad and say "someone could buy that!" to me that is just unsanitary and plain nasty.

Wow that is truely disgusting. The fact that a store would even accept something like that and not check for something as simple as a stain is disgusting. I can see if that is all you can afford, but just to save a couple dollors...Ill work the extra time to buy new clothing.

That's just nasty. Cleaned or not, you don't want to wear something that someone already wore and stretched out. It's not good to wear used bras. You could wash them five times over, that's not going to stop the fact that the bra is stretched out. Once a bra becomes worn out, it's time to toss it. I wouldn't even buy them at garage sales. For that price on bras, you could easily get one somewhere else brand new at that.
Those people that do take there undies and bras to good will, what are they thinking, lol. I wouldn't want people looking at my bras or my undies. Stains or not.

I enjoy bargain shopping at the local thrift stores. But there are some things I will not buy. I go to our local goodwill also, but I have noticed that the prices on some things are terrible. You can buy new underwear for less then 1.99 at Walmart or a local dollar store. I mostly get jeans and such for the kids, and sometimes myself. They usually only cost about $2.50 a pair, and sometimes still have the price tags on them. And I buy alot of home stuff like shelves, vases, etc. I don't think I could comfortably wear someone elses undies or bra's.

Second hand stores dealing with clothing used to be very popular in my country. I used to think that these stores proliferate in third world countries only. I must admit that I stay away from these, although they are really offering very cheap merchandise, for fear that they may be selling stolen goods and some may be contaminated in some ways. The health department had given out warnings to this effect. However, after so many years of operation, I haven't encountered of any complaint to this effect. There is such a wide variety to choose from but, the choosing alone is quite a task in itself. I know, because I tried it once and didn't manage to get any item because the choosing alone got me tired.
