does anyone know how to stop a 6yr old from bedwetting?

My son is 6 and still wets the bed- I am too ashamed to ask the other parents I know. anyone have anything that worked for them?

Me and my wife start to train our elder son to wake up and tell us he when he need to go for washroom at night and by then he was 2 1/2 years old.He wet the bed for not more then 5 times and was able to wake up himself till now which he was now just 4 years old.The method we use was educate him,encourage him over and over..

Thanks everyone, I take all the advice I can get, but he is 6 and I have tried all that and more! I dont think it is necessarly a bed wetting issue, but more of a heavy sleeper, I get him up everynight to use the bathroom and he doesnt even open his eyes and never once has he remembered me waking him. I have went into his room yelling to wake him up but he sleeps through everything!

yes give them small rewards every morning each day if they didnt wet teh bed or something like that

When i was a kid my health visitor told my mum to buy some silver and goldstars and make a chart. So when i wet the bed i didn't get a star when i didn't wet i got a gold star. It worked so give it a try. You can also use the system for other things.
