I'm not paralyzed but a good friend of mine was from the waist down in an accident in 1994. He was very athletic and what he ended up doing (after a few months of being very depressed) was getting one of those racing wheelchairs. He now is still very athletic but in a different way. I think he's very positive, and I'm sure you are too. I don't think I could be like that. I am too into feeling sorry for myself and too negative. I think people who go through severe life changes like that can teach the rest of us something very powerful and important about life.

I was born disabled so I don't know any other way to be. Some people with acquired disabilities have a hard time adjusting, but they do eventually for the most part deal with it and have healthy, happy lives. I'm glad your hear on Mylot, having your say.
