Scary Drivers and Road Rage

Have you ever been in a situation while driving where there was another driver who seemed to have just lost their senses? Have you ever been chased? How did you handle it? Have you ever done this to someone else?
I had it happen a few times. I was stuck at a stop sign and a guy pulled up behind me. He kept honking at me, but I couldn't go as the intersection was full. He actually got out of his car to come huffing and puffing up to my car window. I saw a chance, and hit the gas pedal as hard as possible, but he jumped into his car to CHASE me. I had to call the police, it was really scary. He was freaking out waving his hands around and making rude gestures at me out his window.
The second time I was out late at night and a car started to follow me. He would drive up along side of me and then get back behind me and act like he was going to hit my car. I just simply drove to the police station and parked right outside the doors and stayed in the car until a police officer came out. I didn't know who the man was or if he was still watching me from somewhere. It was really frightening.

Aren't you alone on that time? There are many other people around you. Don't hesitate to ask for their help.

You can't ask for help from others around if you are in your car trying not to let a freak catch up to you. The first time I called the police to get them to meet me to take care of him so I did ask for help. The second time it was in the middle of the night and NO ONE was around and I drove to the police station which is getting help though if you think about it. I just didn't get out of th car because I didn't know where the guy went and waited for the police officer to come out to tell him what happened.

Maybe you should buy a kind of self defence tools, like tear gas or electric shocker...

I haven't experienced road rage like you have, but I have had people flip me the middle finger.
And two times I flipped by a woman. Women can be mean too. lol

Yes women can be quite mean behind the wheel that is for sure. I had a woman follow me to the store and wait for me to park. I didn't notice until I came back out of the store and she had blocked my car in so she could cuss and threaten me. I asked her if she was out here the whole time, and she said she was. I laughed, told her how psycho she is and then dialed the police. She took off very fast. True though women are just as bad.

There was one time some guy cut off my mom and she laid on her horn (as she always does). We ended up stopping at a light and the guy got out of his car and walked up to our van. I thought that was the end of us all. He was gonna kill us right then and there. He ended up apologizing to her. That was a scary AND weird moment! Another time, my sister and I were on our way home from somewhere and this guy totally cut us off. Almost hit us, too. Well, that was a reason to honk (with him almost hitting us, not just cutting us off). Again, we both ended up at a light, but this guy wouldn't go when it turned green. He was blocking us. I think he did something else, but I can't remember. Oh yeah, I think he kept stopping or going slow and trying to block us. Anyway, my sister ended up following him and calling the cops to report his reckless driving. Then he pulled a stunt to try and lose us. LOL

People like that last one freak me out. I also hate it if they are in front and won't go until the last minute so you are stuck at the red light. What a big jerk. Cars can be scary and those people don't seem to understand the danger of those stunts.

I had an experience a couple of weeks back. I was driving home from the vets with my two cats, when a car came out of a side turning without looking, he managed to slow enough not to hit me, but then he tailgated me and kept trying to overtake, in the end, I pulled over to let him past and continued, as I turned a bend in the road there he was again, he had parked his car diagonally across the road - which was only a small single track road - and was out of the car waving and jumping up and down at me. Oh S..t I thought!, as I stopped he started to come towards me shouting and such! I decided I'm not going to stay here and acelerated to go past his car, I had to half mount the dirt bank to get past, as I looked in the mirror he started towards his car again as to give chase!
But as luck would have it just before he got in his car a motorbike traffic cop turn the bend and started to talk to him. I carried on quickly, although a little shaken!
I won't forget his face though when I mounted the bank, I think he thought I wouldn't do it as I was in a Jaguar!! I didn't care I wasn't waiting for him to do something I'd rather risk damaging the car getting away!
