today in my bible studies, my teacher/priest raised a very good point: do you think about what ur saying when u say a common prayer like "our father"? we say: our father who art in heaven hallowed be thy name thy kingdom come thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven give us this day our daily bread and forgive our debts as we forgive our debtors lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil for thyne is the kingdom the power and the glory for ever and ever amen. did u ever take a moment to study its meaning or r u like me: study it like a poem and recit it? (i feel bad about that). do u always forgive ur debtors or r u lying to god too?

Hi,
I do think about the meaning, I do fail to live up to it, am I lying to God? I don't think so, it is more like I am asking God to help me achieve this forgiving nature.
all the best urban

By coincidence, or maybe it wasnt,I was thinking of someone tonight that I had a very bitter hatred for and I thought tonight maybe its time I write them a letter and try to fogive them and move on. I think I have dwelled way to long on the negative.

Yes, we must try to do that but we don't lie on God. Jesus ordered us to say to remember everytime we say it that we must forgive. God is love and we must do in his way he ordered us. Forgiving debtors is a matter grately discussed across ages and found that it is a high level in faith and acceptance of heaven as the target of us. What do u think?

i pray the LORD's prayer at least once a day. i also meditate on it occassionally. i hope i forgive any wrongs done to me!! i'm far from perfect but that is something that is important to me since i pray the LORD's prayer daily.
