Okay, I was tuning into the radio this morning and missed some of the discussion. But, for the most part, what I took from the conversation is that if a teacher sees you have a cell phone they have the right to look at your cell phone. Some callers believed this was a good idea that way students are cheating via text messages. Others believe it's a invasion of privacy. So, there were different points of views on this topic. What is your point of view? Explain!

The whole invasion of privacy thing ( for Kids any way...) is just over the top. When I went to school ( late ' 80's ) the teachers were still smacking the kids around. Now there's an invasion of privacy ! As far as I'm concerned...The Kids should be studying , not calling their friends on the tax-payer's time !!!
What are we paying these exorbitant property taxes for anyway??? If the kids are playing w/ Cell-phones? Not only should the teachers look at their phones...they should confiscate it as well !

Well, this puts a whole new perspective on things. I see that you are obviously against childrens/kids/teens having cell phones in school. To an extent I do have to agree with you. That they shouldn't be allowed in school at all. When I was in high school they were allowed, but they were not allowed in class. Which makes sense. I had my cell phone for after school when I needed to call for a ride. Yet, I abided by the rules.

I think if they are banned they have the right to look. If a test is going on they have a right to look. I dont think you should have them in school class period. I believe they are fine before or after school but not during.

I have to agree with you. I feel that it's important to cary a cell phone around, especially with today's society. Yet, I feel that cell phones should be left in the students locker/car during school. I know when I was in High School we weren't allowed cell phones in class. So, I too agree that if they are in class using them when they aren't supposed to the teacher should be able to look at the cell phone.
