That depends on what you mean by marriage. If you mean the commintment and partnership of two people who love ach other, then no I don't think that is over rated at all. Not for everyone, but no over rated. However if you mean the act of marriage, the wedding and the ceremony and the certificates, yes i think all of that is overrated.
